The original website was created in 2009 as a result of a conversation between a group of friends who also happened to have a shared and passionate interest in Britain’s wartime history and life on the Home Front.
The site was predominantly about promoting living history relevant to the 1940s era however it soon evolved into a resource for school history projects and for individuals and organisations seeking more information about the nation’s social and military history.
Today we are able to offer a range of services in our role as a not for profit entity and these include Photo Archives, Talks, Displays and Presentations as well as an Advisory Service to Event Organisers and Venues and the Media/TV/Film sectors.
We are based in the south of England with our own local resources. Over the years we have established a network of contacts across the UK and are able to call on advice, guidance and support as necessary from many knowledgeable third parties.
We have supported and continue to support a number of organisations including Charities, Local Authorities, Public and Private Venues, Visitor Destinations and the Armed Forces. For further details and references please contact us.
We remember with great affection our Patron Pauline Natividad who passed away suddenly on 23rd October 2020.
Pauline was a GI War Babe who was reunited some years ago with her Dad and her new family in the United States. Her father was stationed in England during the build up to D-Day and he met Pauline's Mum, a member of the Land Army in Hampshire. Pauline's passion for History, her support in helping other war babes find their fathers and her cheerful disposition will leave wonderful lasting memories for all those who came to know her.
Thank you Pauline, you are sadly missed.
